We are Dave & Sue Lillicrap and live in Ohio on a hundred acre farm. We have had hunting dogs since 2008 after an article in the Gun Dog Magazine about German Wirehaired Pointers. We started out with two, three month old German Wirehaired Pointers. We all learned together, it was a big job training 2 dogs at the same time. We also have a four year old German Wirehair that is a great pointer. The Bracco Italiano was featured in the Gun Dog Magazine and we went on line looking for a breeder. We were able to purchase a liver & white female (Bella) from Ron Boehme of Dancing Duke Kennels in 2010. We fell in love with the breed. Bella was 9 weeks old when she became part of our family. Bella has become a good hunter and pointer. We were interested in breeding Bella and realized most Bracco’s in the US were related. So with the help of Valerie Kessler & Dick Propernick, we were able to get in touch with the Italian judge Flavio Fusetti, to find a male from Italy. Flavio Fusettito recommended a breeder Ambrogio Fossati and that is how we got Dragon Della Bassa Brianza, Dragon for short. He was 8 months when he came from Italy. Dragon had to learn English but, he had the basic training & obedience. As a young dog he has lots of energy. Our Bracco’s are NAVHDA, UKC, registered and we are members of the Bracco Italiano of America. The Bracco’s are a wonderful breed but, need lots of exercise and opportunity to work and hunt.
